RADC 2.0
08. Oct. 2024The new Aspöck RADC 2.0 is the company's own enhanced version of the proven RDC-Premium ramp approach system. It supports the driver when reversing a truck with trailer. In particular, it enables gentle docking to the loading ramp. The RADC 2.0 optimally covers the large, non-visible area at the rear of the trailer with its 180-degree field-of-view detection. In the case of static objects, such as a loading ramp, the system then performs targeted braking. The radar sensor can also be used in all weather conditions and offers a configurable detection range.
What makes RADC 2.0 an innovation? The distance monitoring system not only detects objects behind the vehicle, but also dynamic objects from a defined lateral speed in the extended detection range, which has been specially designed for the detection of cross-traffic. On the basis of such a detection, all monitoring signals are activated one after the other: the beeper – the acoustic detection signal – becomes audible. Two outline lights transmit the visual warning signal in a flashing manner until finally the emergency braking mode in the Aspöck control unit is activated during the reversing process and the haptic feedback is transmitted to the Trailer EBS in the form of abruptly initiated braking with increased braking pressure. This is a very effective way of preventing potential collisions.
Our Aspöck RADC 2.0 was awarded 2nd place in the ‘Safety’ category of the International Trailer Awards for this innovative solution.
